MIDDLE SCHOOL

Advanced art students explore various areas of art.  This class involves the use of a variety of two and three dimensional media and are expected to perform at a high level. Projects will be based on themes relevant to students, such as identity, culture, and conflict and require them to produce visual art forms as a response to creative challenges.
Expectations:  Projects, active participation, and self and peer-assessment

Microscopic compositions

Students were posed with the challenge of creating

original compositions based on microscopic organic images.

Maps as an artistic device

Students took on the challenge of using a map or maps of a particular place and incorporating them into an original piece of art. The artwork serves as a commentary about the locations they chose.
